How to Customize Your Instagram Highlight Covers
Please do note this is from my Android phone, the iPhone app will vary slightly. But the overall guide and steps will be the same.
In the tutorial below, I will walk you through how to change your Instagram highlight cover and showcase your story category!
Step #1….. Add Your Instagram Highlight Covers to Your Story
Before you can upload your new cover design as your customized Instagram highlight cover, you will first need to add your highlight icons to your story and then you can add them to the appropriate highlight.
After you have added your Instagram highlight icon cover to your stories… Go back to your profile and tap your profile image to watch your story. When your cover image opens, tap the heart icon labeled Highlight. (bottom right corner)
Now you have the option to either create a new highlight or select an existing highlight. In this example, I selected an existing highlight, the “icons” highlight.
If you prefer to create a new highlight, tap the + sign, add a highlight name, and tap Add.
Step #2….. Update your Highlight Covers with your Designs
The next step is to update your highlight cover with your new branding. Tap on your highlight container and click the three dots icon at the bottom-right corner.
Next, you will tap Edit Highlight. (as seen below)
You now see options to edit the cover, change the name of your highlight, or delete highlighted stories you no longer want to use.
To change the cover, tap Edit Cover and select your new branded highlight. You can drag and zoom in on the image on the screen to reposition it. Tap Done to save your changes.
Now all you need to do is follow the same process for all of the highlights you want. This simple and easy way to brand your Instagram story highlights helps you create valuable content that can live forever on your profile!
It’s super easy to customize your Instagram story highlight covers… and now your Instagram story highlights will look a lot more branded, and streamlined and will be easier for your followers to navigate.
